Cyber Crime is a developing area of criminal activity affecting individuals and business community. As we are more and more dependent on using the internet to transact business as private citizens and public companies, we have to be victims. This presentation will help us have a greater appreciation of this potential hazard in how it may happen, who are the targets and how to prevent or mitigate the resultant damage. It is essential for insurance industry personnel and risk managers to have a good understanding the various aspects of this type of exposure so they may seek the proper insurance coverage, develop risk management programs and advise clients and management. Lieutenant Stevens will provide information about the cyber-crime they are investigating, who is the most common victims, how the crime is perpetrated and ways to mitigate exposure.
